Snowshoe Mountain Trails

Snowshoeing in the National Park Hohe Tauern is a fun way to explore the winter landscape, including beautiful snow covered meadows and forests. The trips start in Obervellach, just 10 minutes drive from Kolbnitz.

The leisurely trail which is guided by your experienced leader Ron, flows through the deep snow and is a unique experience in the pristine natural winter landscape.
As you trek though the glittering winter wonderland Ron highlights the various tracks left by animals in the snow and teaches you about the local vegetation (conifers, ferns, mosses and lichens).

There are three tours all of which start at the tourist office in Obervellach. Each trail lasts 4-5 hours and takes place on Wednesdays during winter season, or by appointment. Your guide chooses the most appropriate trail based on the conditions.
